A Cold frosty week in Molalla

It's been a very cold two weeks, getting  colder with each passing day. We have been huddling in the house trying to stay warm each evening with the heat on and a fire in the fire place. I for one am glad we don't live in the mid west where the winters are much colder and longer than ours....I am longing for spring and the Oregon rain.

The fog lifted for the first time today in days, when I came home for lunch at 2pm today, this is what I saw. Several days of ice fog on all the trees and bushes around the property. A beautiful frosty white homestead. And I might add still FROZEN. We expect freezing rain in the morning. Our high today was 34. It was 23 when I left for work this morning.

But this is what I look forward to when I get home from work and over the last few days over the weekend.....

Keeps us warm after a long days work at home or at work. We have been busy working in our house to replace the carpets in the house. Which with that comes of course painting the walls while your at it, fixing this and that while your at it... we ripped out the carpets from one bedroom last weekend with brother in law Neils help and plan  this weekend working on our bedroom. The carpet has been ordered and due to arrive on the 28th. Install  date yet to be determined. We will also be replacing the living-room and hallway carpets after that.  A lot of work is ahead of us, but it will be worth it and look nice in the end.

That is, if we can stay out of the urgent care centers with 17 other people, all of which have the flu or colds, waiting for a doctor for 2 hours, to look at your hand as  you have cut it with a pudy knife. Yes, Seth had an encounter with a pudy knife. And that is all I will say about it. He will be fine. I on the other hand, am taking vitamin C  and now sneezing.  We will be returning to the bedroom work this weekend.

Take care and God Bless.

Creative Memories Weekend

We spent the first two weeks of the new year resting putting Christmas away for another year and trying to stay warm. It has been colder  recently these past few days and we have found that the older we get the less we like it. And the more of a challenge it is to stay warm.

Oregon Gardens Creative Memories Consultant Event

Pam and I spend the weekend enjoying the time working on projects, helping others, and enjoying the time together. A total of 52 women came together this weekend to spend a day together , to learn and  to share our passion of creating albums, books, and other projects together. And for those that want too, there was also help to grow their business. Pam and I also invited Brittni and Lindsey to come over and enjoy the evening and stay the night. We had a nice dinner and good time sharing.

I have taken on the challenge from the Pixels2Pages Website  "Day2Day"  Challenge.  Don't know if I will be able to keep up with it, but I am willing to give it a try. I have completed the first week page and I am remembering to take at least one  picture a day somewhere in my life. It's kind of like a a diary of your life in pictures for a year. We will see how it turns out.
It was fun to put together and didn't take me long at all. Which is a good thing, since I do have several other projects I am working on also. I have a wedding book for my son, a camping book for my husband, I want to do a family book for each side of our families. So, I will be very! busy this year. Oh, and a book of our trip to the Caribbean too.

Wow...my evenings will be very full indeed. But it's fun and worth it in the end.

A Creative Memories Partner, and one of the best places to increase your knowledge of  digital scrap-booking. and projects.

Have a great weekend! It's FRIDAY! Mine as you can see will be full, and that is in between picking out  new carpet, paint and molding for a remodel project we are also working on.

Take care and remember, SMILE, it's never that bad...............

Christmas Season Tea

The Finney ladies went out to tea last Saturday afternoon, over the holiday weekend. To Lavender Bleu in West Linn,  and we had a wonderful time. Pam and I have had and gone to tea for years, but this is new for our girls Brittni and Lindsey. Pam and I are truly enjoying sharing our love of having a get together for tea  with them, and they love it. We had a great time together at tea and later a bit of shopping.

This is Brittni Finney, I loved her hat!
Lindsey Finney, also a cute hat,  I must get a hat!

Our tea and lunch. An afternoon of wonderful conversation, bonding and fun.
I think we have started a new tradition.
Have a great week!

It's The Holidays...

A few days before Christmas, with much left to do....I came down sick with the flu. Going to Urgent care on Christmas Eve was not in my plan book.
Luckily for me, I have a husband and family who all pitched in and we made Christmas
happen even with mom basically down for the count.

Our Christmas Card for this year. It was the first year I put together a picture card to send out to our family and friends. Turned out pretty good.

                                                       Our tree.

The stockings all hung by the fireplace with care, waiting for St Nick soon to appear.

We all had fun this year for Christmas, and we hope that you also did with your families. We have been blessed in the past year many times over, and thank God for watching over us all through the past year. May peace be with you in the coming year. God Bless each and every one of you.
