It's Tuesday!  Did I mention that we have a new grand puppy in the family? Skyler and Brittni have gotten a new dog, a one year boxer mix called Denver. He is the most loving guy! A real lap dog, wanting lots of love. He is sitting right beside me right now..... The kids are waiting for paperwork to go through before they can take him to their apartment.  Below is a picture of Denver.... :)  Have a great week!!!

Habitat for Humanity House Build in Molalla

Habitat for Humanity House

We spent this beautiful sunny Saturday working on the new Habitat house in Molalla.  Wells Fargo is very  involved in the Habitat for Humanity, and we are very proud to say we have two homes being built in the Molalla area. I spent the day caulking the house...yukky and messy !  And Seth worked on the sheeting of the other new house next door. We spent 4 hours working and then ate a great lunch that our manager Lori had delivered to the sight. Below are a couple of pictures of our day.

Seth is in the window in the last two shots hammering away. And he is working on the top edge of the house in the other.  I took a shot of my caulking skills.....what can I say. It's sealed. :)  And by the way girls...I made a nail appointment right after we were done....My nails were ruined and a mess.  Caulking does that when you have to smooth out the caulking with your fingers after you have beaded it in. Good day though.
Take care, and have a good day.

My son...and his new wife Lindsey.

Our Son Samuel and his wife Lindsey. They were married in August. It was a wonderful wedding full of love and family for the occasion.  After a honeymoon trip to the Carribean just ahead of the recent storm "Issac"  in Florida, they are at home in Molalla.

Fall is coming, cooler evenings and mornings, the leaves from the tree's beginning to fall. Winter will be here all too soon. Will be working on cleaning up the flower beds, cutting back the roses, reading them for the winter to come. Our back yard is looking pretty good, and I want to keep it that way. After a very full summer of events....a new deck built just in time for my nieces wedding in June, family BBQ over the 4th of July, a bridal shower for Lindsey... then Samuel and Lindsey s rehearsal dinner and wedding in August, it has been a very busy summer in our back yard.

We have also lost two of our family kitty's this summer. They were part of our family and will be missed by us all. The first was Simmon in July. He had a heart problem, and we lost him all too soon. The second was our  "dear" cat  Dusty. He was with us for 18 years, and will be missed by all of us.

Simmon Blue....the most lively cat we have had in years...a joy to play with. With us such a short time, yet a great cat.

Dusty...a member of our family for 18 years. He will be missed by us all.

Wedding Shopping

Spent a great day in this wonderful sunny weather we are having  to do some wedding clothes shopping and seeing a movie. Seth picked up a couple of new shirts, having lost some 15 pounds recently and in need of smaller shirts (Yeah) , myself.... I was in search of the dress I needed to wear at Samuel's and Lindsey's wedding in late August. We saw the new Chevy VOLT car at the mall, and each of us took a test drive in it today.  A very nice car, and great fuel mileage...  car running on both electric and gas. Can get up to 50  miles per gallon. Seriously interested in this car. And it 's nice looking too. :)  Got a few other needed items and then went out to lunch and took in a movie. We went to see the new Batman movie.  It was very good!! Although very long, almost three hours.  So make sure you can last that long with having to leave during the movie. You don't want to miss a minute. I enjoyed it allot. Worth seeing. In fact, we had not seen the first two in this latest series, so on the way home, we stopped at Freddy's and picked up the first two before this new movie so we can get caught up on the new Batman series.
Batman....
Now, I just have to have Lindsey check my two dresses I brought home and see which one she likes best for the wedding....  :)   Excited to have Pam and Neil drop by tomorrow in their new motor home....to check it out.

It's a beautiful spring morning. I hear the birds singing outside in the early morning. We have been busy working in the yard. Working on the back flower beds, as spring if left unchecked in Oregon can quickly  fill them with thick tall weeds. All the rain and sun, rain and sun...sure lets those weeds grow fast. Front yard is done, and working on the back.
Enjoying the warmer weather and the sun!! It was a long wet winter. Love roses, will be planting new ones soon.

Spring has arrived! I think...

Well, we have had a couple days of very nice sunshine and warm weather. We started tearing off the deck this last weekend, so we can replace it with a nice new deck. We have two weddings here this summer and the back yard needs some sprucing up. My wonderful daughter in law got out into the flower beds this week. She came over and started in cleaning up the flower beds by the red barn. Looks nice, she is doing a wonderful job!
We spent last weekend cerbrating sister Pam's 60th birthday. We went to the Portland Grill. Very nice place to go! We had a good time.
We have a busy weekend coming up. I work tomorrow and Sunday we have a wedding shower to attend. Katie, Rick and Gina's daughter is getting married in May.
In the mean time, I'm trying to tie down some details on my nieces wedding in June. Coming down to a point where I need to know details... :)
Well, everyone, have a great weekend.

It's Friday!

It's Friday, and a three day weekend for some. I get to work tomorrow, but at least I still get my two day weekend before going back to work. I sit here with a cat on each side of me...staying warm and cozy beside me. Dusty is older than old...he is now 17 years old, and Felix, named after Felix the Cat for those old enough to remember watching Felix the Cat cartoons on Saturday morning cartoons in the 50's & 60's. He looks just like him.

Felix being lazy ...
Have a great weekend and stay warm!

Christmas is over :(

Tis the Christmas Season...
The Christmas season is over and it's early January. Time to take down the tree, and put the decorations away for another year. This January so far has been rather warm. We have only had a day or two of icy weather so far. Would like to see some snow, one can only hope. And only if I am home and don't have to go anywhere. :)
We will be busy with the day to day work and such for the month of January, nothing special going on. Wishing all  of  you a happy January and winter season. Hope to get the feeders filled for the birds in the next day or so. They are hungry.
