New Year 2022

It's a new year. Lets pray it is better over all than last year.

Christmas season was good. Was able to get together with our family and have a grand time.

Was also able to get out a bit. We traveled up to Pittock Mansion and toured the grounds and home. Wonderful, had a good day.

Enjoy your evening.

It's been a long time since I added anything to our page. Life sure got in the way. I will try to catch up with what has been happening. Between the Oregon fires, and the ice storm, the past 7 months has been full of ups and downs. We came out of both events with some damage, but nothing that could not be cleaned up or fixed. Will post photos soon.

So, I am into sewing again after many years not focused on it. I have to make a spring dress for my grand daughter. I have always loved to sew, and have done so for most of my life. I made most of my clothes while attending high school so many years ago.  In recent years, my sewing machine sat mostly idle, as I had so many other things to do. I always called myself a "quilter want ta be", when I retire.  And I have the stash to go with it. I have always visited quilting stores and buy cloth for future use.   Now that I have a bit more time in my life, I have been spending more time on my machine. I have always used my 1977 New Home, I bought after I got married,(now a vintage classic according the my sewing machine repair man).  This last Saturday morning I was at the Family Thrift shop in town looking for yardage that I could use for quilting, and ran into the above 1960's vintage New Home for 35.00. I just had to bring her home. She is so beautiful.  She runs like a charm, just needs a bit of tension work, and she is ready to go after a good cleaning and oiling.
The third picture is one of my sister and I. We spent a day sewing when she came down for a visit. We had a great time.
Well, that's what's going on in my life these days. :)

It's a cold dark morning this morning. I woke up to a dusting of snow in the yard. Surprise! Winter is pushing through the Willamette Valley this weekend. Burrr...it's cold outside, and I am sick with a bad winter cold/flu bug. I noticed I did not post any posts last year at all. Will try to be better this coming year moving forward.

Land of the Midnight Sun... Alaska

To Denali ... Land of the midnight sun I am told. We took a trip to Alaska with family and friends and had the most wonderful time. I love Alaska, with all its beautiful unspoiled land, the wildlife that roams the land without human interference. For the most part, anyway.

Bear in Denali Park.

Denali on a rare clear day.

Seth caught this eagle, just beautiful.

It's National Sibling Day...

April 2014-
So, I hear it's National Sibling Day, so I thought I would post a picture of myself and my two sisters....
Teresa and Julie.... in honor of the day.

So Terry is on the far left, Julie in the center, and myself on the far right. We are enjoying Christmas in our home in Pasadena, Calif. It looks to be about Christmas 1965. Since Julie was born in June of 1964. She looks to be about 1 1/2 yrs old or so.Look at that tree... pretty cool.
Anyway.... Happy Sibling Day Sis's!

Reno Street Vibrations....great trip

We had a wonderful, relaxing week. Enjoying what we love to do.... ride our motorcycle. We had planned our trip to Reno for months and looked forward to the ride down to the semi annual Street Vibrations event.
However the weather and rain would decide that our trip would turn out differently for us than we expected.

We had planned on riding down to Reno, taking two days to do so. Taking the back roads, through Susanville, Canby, Alturus and into Reno. But the rain moved into Oregon the weekend we were to leave.
We decided to load the bike onto the truck and drive it down and stay dry, and have a good time.

We arrived on Tuesday afternoon to cool but clear weather after driving through rainy skies most of the way down.

I snapped this picture on the way down, it was a bird sanctuary around Altrus, I believe.

We spent the next couple of days relaxing and taking in the event. There were lots of vendors there to check out on the strip, which was closed down to all traffic for the week for the event.

One of the side streets, a view from out hotel room.

Seth, taken up at Virginia City, we spent the days riding around the area and hills, Virginia City was on the map. Most of us made it up to Virginia City over the weekend. We ended up spending time up there for two days.

A view of the street on Friday, it was calmer on Friday than it was on Saturday, most bikers arrived in Virginia City on Saturday we found. Kind of crazy, but we had a good time. Our bike is parked near the flag.

Seth and I on Saturday ended up parking the bike at the beginning of C street coming into town. There must have been 2000-2500 bikes parked in Virginia City that day.... crazy!!

Virginia City ... full throttle ....

Seth and I coming into town on Friday. Glad to have a picture of the two of us. A rare picture of the two of us on the bike together. We had a great time, I hope to go back someday.

Take care and God Bless,
Cathy
